I really have to disagree with most of the reviews. The young lady who took our order over the phone was very polite, talked slow for us to understand without asking her to and even repeated our order back to us. The delivery staff was also very polite. As for the food.. Every thing we ordered had distinct individual flavor. The vegetables were fresh and on the "just right" crunchy side. Even the mushrooms were fresh and not slimy like from a can. The only reason I didn't give them a 5 star was because the jumbo shrimp had more batter than shrimp, but it was still tasty. Next time we are in the area, we will order from them again!

Another unsuccessful attempt at finding cheap AND tasty Chinese takeout in the NN/Williamsburg area. I ordered a standard dish- chicken & broccoli- and asked for brown rice instead of white (which the lady on the phone said that they have). The brown rice was not actually brown rice- it was yellow. Strange. The sauce was not mixed with the chicken and broccoli- it was basically just a blob on top of the dish and was overly sweet in my opinion. The portion was also smaller than what I'm used to for takeout. I was hoping it was going to be a "diamond in the rough" as it is the only tenant in a shopping center that once housed a Food Lion and a few other retailers in the Lee Hall area of Newport News. No such luck. I will say that the staff were all very friendly and the food was ready in 5 minutes.

I have to admit. I am one of those type of people that when I find a Chinese restaurant that I like I stick with it. That speaking, my boyfriend finally convinced me to try the restaurant closer to home. After all, my roommate told me the military men at the Yorktown naval weapons station love it. What could go wrong? Well... For starters they really didn't to like the fact that I am a multiracial young woman dating a Korean young man. As we walked up to the place, not entering yet. I took notice of most of the employees were already standing around the dining area staring really hard and long at us. I thought nothing of it since I am use to this kind of treatment. Upon entering they ushered all of the children in the back. I will give then a benefit of the doubt and assume that they just didn't want the children interfering with the customers. The kids were cute BTW. The initial lady who took our order was already unengaged and seemed to express distain for us in her voice and body language, becoming very uncomfortable I just pick anything from the menu. I wanted to just get out that place. While my boyfriend was ordering everyone "I mean everyone" just stared at us. When the order was complete my boyfriend asked me if there was anything else I wanted and the lady taking our order shouted something and threw the pen. If the bill wasn't already paid I would have just left right then and there. It didn't really sink into me what the problem really was, until another customer came in and she was profession in taking his order. We finally got our food and left. When finally getting the back to house I opened my food and noticed my food seemed old and my boyfriend's food was fresh. He shared his with me, but the overall experience made the food taste horrible to me. I really don't know how they can afford to keep the place up and running let alone afford new Lexus.

This place is just freaking gross, creepy and the staff is rude. Firstly, I can't stand "Chinese" take-out joints but unfortunately I find myself in the situation of having to deal with it due to the company I keep. However, this place is probably one of the worst "Chinese" takeouts I have been to. The location is straight up ran down and raggedy, it's the only store in a strip where Food Lion and Bottom Dollar failed..hmm, shouldn't that be a clue? There is plenty of trash around the surrounding area and it just looks abandoned. Anyway inside the greasy sticky feeling will hit you and do not be expected to be greeted or even attended to right away. The lady at the counter just threw daggers our way and was super short. I was also told she once got all pissy and threw a pen when my roommate and her boyfriend walked in and ordered when she realized they were an interracial couple. Wth. Anyway, I have mutiple horror stories about this place and could go on. However, the food offering- is your standard "Chinese" takeout and regular prices. I've ordered twice from here once was a vegetable Mei Fun ( rice noodles) and pretty much turned out to be Egg and Green Onion Mei Fun. The noodles were hard on the egdes and it was super slippery. The second time I ordered I asked if they made General Tso's Tofu and she was pretty rude and said no. So, I ordered their only other tofu dish which seemed to annoy her, which was some tofu in this bland sauce with broccoli. Gross. Overall, I will never go back and I am glad. Rude racist staff and horrible food. They are lucky they are the closest "Chinese" place around for the locals on the northern end of NN.

If I could give them a zero, I would. My brother wanted spring rolls on the way home, so Hong Kong seemed to be the logical choice. Upon entering, he asked if he could use the bathroom and the woman responded with "No, n***er, you can't use our restroom." Racism at its finest.

We had visited this restaurant for take out approximately 10 times and were satisfied, but lately tastes have changed (not for the better) and the food no longer tastes fresh. Apparently they've changed chefs and the food is now tasteless. The egg rolls are pretty bad also.

Delicious!!! I had the cold noodle appetizer with the spicy sauce like a Thai peanut sauce. Then the sweet and sour pork with chicken fried rice. It was all very tasty. Also I had it delivered and it seemed like they delivered it right after I hung up the phone...wow

Chinese Cuisine

The popularity of Chinese food in America can be adjudicated by the appearance of China Town in many major cities in the United State of America. The popular trend of ordering or opting for Chinese take away food isn't unknown in America. Chinese take away food comes to rescue when you're too tired from work or too exhausted to cook. No one can resist the temptation of eating spicy noodles, shrimp, chicken, beef or pork cooked in the sweet and spicy sauce. The cooking method of authentic Chinese food is a lot different compared to what is served in America.

Generally, Chinese use dark meat small bones and organs to cook dishes but this changes when you are eating American-Chinese fusion food prepared using white boneless meat cooked with broccoli, carrots and onions. Back in China, the food is less spicy and oily as they favor steaming and braising method for cooking the most popular dishes. So, if you have a taste for authentic Chinese food, then try finding a real Chinese restaurant in the city. You can also try the most popular fusion Chinese food like Pecking Duck, Chicken Feet, Hot Pot, Shrimp Dumpling Soup, Mapo Tofu, Wontons, Chop Suey, Egg Rolls and not to forget Fortune Cookies.

There are not many restaurants in America serving authentic Chinese food. A little research on Restaurant Listings directory can help you locate the best Chinese restaurants in the city. Chinese cuisine is continuously evolving, and you can find a variety of dishes categorized as the food for lactose intolerant, gluten intolerant, vegan, vegetarian, and diabetic friendly. So, if you have a group of friends with different taste patterns, save the hassle and visit the nearest Chinese restaurant in your city.
